Wow this is our last full week of school for the year!
This week was Māori language week. Here are some pictures from extra activities that tied into Māori language week and our class learning this week.
Today Mrs Coe's cat Indi came in to visit room 1 and 2. We got to meet her, pet her and ask questions in groups of four as she was a bit scared being away from her home. The rest of us created our own cats for cut and paste.
Reminder: this week on Wednesday we are heading to the Stanway's farm to visit their many animals. If your child has gumboots please send them to school with them on Wednesday as this will be more appropriate footwear.
It was a lovely warm day on Tuesday, so we had 3 activities outside for developmental time as well as some inside as a refreshment away from the heat.
This week in maths we used number rods to find two different rods that added together to make a number. We represented some of these discoveries by drawing them in our books.
Our reading activity this week was using salt trays to practice writing our sight words.
On Friday we completed our "half portraits". Using a photo of our faces that had been cut in half we used pencil to add in the rest of our face. The children then coloured in their art work and is now up on the wall in Room 1. It is great to see the children's creativity being expressed as well and their fun and inventive ideas in the want to have colourful hair and school t-shirts!
